It’s That Spooky Time of Year… and What’s Spookier than a Raven? 🖤

As the days grow shorter and the air takes on that crisp, familiar chill, I can’t help but lean into the moodier, more mysterious side of nature. Autumn has a way of inspiring darker tones and deeper textures and honestly, nothing fits that vibe quite like a raven.

I had a wooden raven cut and waiting in my workspace for months, but it’s Halloween, it finally felt like the perfect moment to bring it to life. There’s something so captivating about these birds intelligent, dramatic, and a little bit eerie that makes them the perfect muse for this time of year.

Working on this piece was such a joy. I wanted to capture that sense of spooky elegance, the way a raven can feel both haunting and graceful at the same time. The finished ornament strikes that balance beautifully: dark, bold, and full of character.

This raven has quickly become one of my favorite seasonal creations so far. It embodies everything I love about autumn , mystery, transformation, and a little hint of magic in the air.
